BRUCE ALMIGHTY!!! (Yes he certainly is!)
'Bruce ALMIGHTY' was released in the US back in May of this year the same weekend that 'The Matrix Reloaded' was released. Well, it toppled the long awaited Matrix sequel in that opening weekend proving that the public had a strong craving for the rubber-feaced funnyman.

Jim hasn't been seen on the big screen since last year, when his dramatic triumph 'The Majestic' was released.

On the 19th of June, 'Bruce ALMIGHTY' hit the Aussir box office to rave reviews. I went and saw this much anticipated release and laughed my ass off! I am a Jim Carrey fan of 9 years, but I think that the testimony of the packed crowd in the cinema can give an unbiased response. IT ROCKED!!!

Jim Carrey plays Brucw Nolan, a wacky reporter for a local tv station in Buffalo, NY. Bruce isn't taken seriously by his collegues as he is made to do all the light-hearted news stories which makes his attempts to gain the role of head news anchor very difficult.

Bruce gets to the point where he has had enough of everyone getting ahead in life except for him, despite his best efforts as model citizen. So he accuses God of being the only one not doing his job.

Soon after this, Bruce is persistently contacted on his beeper by an unknown number, to which he refuses to reply until he destroys his beeper and finds the number continues to flash on the screen - so he rings the number!

After being led to a mysterious empty warehouse with the preconcieved notion of having his job woes solved, he encounters...you guessed it - GOD!

God challeges him to do his job better whilst he takes a 'holiday'. So Bruce begins his adventure as 'Bruce Almighty' with absolutely hilarious consequences!!!

The other star players in this film include Morgan Freeman as a delightful representation of God, and Jennifer Aniston plays Bruce's supportive and long suffering girlfriend Grace, who would love nothing more for Bruce to succeed in his life, but not to forget her too.

The movie is basically non-stop laughs from start to finish with a more romantic undertone towards the film's end.

You have to stay for the credits as well! Like 'Liar, Liar' there are hilarious out takes in the credits a few seconds after the credits being to roll.

The film goes from all sorts of crazy moments and extremes and in fact one of the funniest moments wasn't even performed directly by Jim himself!

The whole audience was laughing until they were in stitches and tears and rolling in the aisles! I'm not kidding! It's just that funny! Go and see it, seriously!

Rating: M 15+

My humour score: 10/10 - It could be his best yet! (It's like a cross between Liar, Liar, both the Ace Ventura films and Dumb and Dumber!!!)

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!!!!

But...at the VERY END of the film, when nearly all of the audience has left, myself and a friend of mine saw something bizarre!

I'm not sure if this had anything to do with 'Bruce ALMIGHTY' itself, but if it was it must have been a little in-joke between Jim Carrey and the director Tom Shadyac (The 'Ace Ventura' films).

When all the credits have finished and the film reel appears to be running out, an American PG13 censorship warning appears which gives you the impression that a preview may be coming.

Suddenly, a sepia-toned Robin Hood-like man appears walking through the woods. The film also appears to be slightly off in it's projection. We began to laugh as we thought it must be Jim Carrey doing something strange, but instead we are seeing a couple of 'Russian' actors jumping on each other in a pond! Now instead of laughing at each other with humour, it's more out of craziness! The scene then cuts to a character being pushed off a stair landing into some hay, then the bizarre movie comes to an abrupt end! I'm seeing it again anyway, so I'll let you know if the bizarre 'fault' appears again!

HAPPY VIEWING...AND LAUGHING!!!!!
